Democrat Carrie Woerner wins New York's 113th State Assembly District

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Democrat incumbent Carrie Woerner has won the race for New York's 113th State Assembly District. The Associated Press has called the race for Woerner over Republican challenger Jeremy Messina.

New York's 113th State Assembly District includes parts of Saratoga, Warren and Washington Counties.

In Woerner's candidate interview with NEWS10, she said, if elected, she would work toward lowering the cost of living in New York. Woerner's platform prioritized affordability and healthcare in the state.

In his candidate interview with NEWS10, Messina said New York needs a lot of change in a variety of aspects, ranging from out-migration to agriculture. Messina campaigned for the bolstering of small businesses in the state, aiming to minimize regulations for independent business owners.
