ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A member of the Albany Common Council is running for the New York State Assembly. Ginnie Farrell is seeking the democratic nomination for the 109th assembly seat.
Farrell currently serves as the council's majority leader. She is the second Common Council member to announce her run for state assembly.
Councilman Owusu Anane launched his campaign earlier in the month. Both he and Farrell are looking to replace Assemblywoman Pat Fahy, who is running for the New York State Senate seat that's being vacated by Neil Breslin, who is retiring.
