ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Federal, State, and Local Primary Election is set for Tuesday, June 25. In the Capital Region, early voting starts on June 15 and goes until June 23.
In order to vote in the primaries, you have to be registered to vote by Saturday, June 15. You must be enrolled as a member of a party to vote in that party’s primary. The General Election is set for November 5.
Not every seat up for election this year has a primary; it's only if there are multiple people running for the seat in the same party. Whoever is elected in their party's primary will go on to the general election.
To find out where to go for early voting or for voting on Primary Day, you can visit your county’s Board of Elections website. Montgomery and Fulton Counties are not having a June primary. Here is the list of websites for the other Capital Region counties:

Here are the state and local primary races to be voted on throughout the Capital Region. Only certain primary races will appear on your ballot depending on where you live.
Democratic Party primaries
New York State 109th Assembly District
Six candidates are vying for outgoing Pat Fahy's seat in the 109th Assembly District for the Democratic primary. Fahy is running for State Senate. The 109th Assembly District covers Albany, Guilderland, and New Scotland and residents in those areas can vote for a candidate.
Those running include Albany Common Councilmembers Gabriella Romero, Owusu Anane, Ginnie Farrell, Jack Flynn, Dustin Reidy, and Albany County Legislator Andrew Joyce. The winner will go against Republican Alicia Purdy in the general election.
New York State 102nd Assembly District
The New You State 102nd Assembly District covers all of Greene and Schoharie counties, and parts of Delaware, Albany, Otsego, and Ulster counties. Mary Finneran and Janet Tweed are vying for the seat in the Democratic primary.
New York State 106th Assembly District
The New York State 106th Assembly District covers parts of Columbia and Dutchess Counties. Incumbent Didi Barrett is being challenged by Claire Cousin for the seat in the Democratic primary.
New York State 107th Assembly District
The New York State 107th Assembly District covers the town of Bethlehem and parts of Columbia, Rensselaer, and Washington counties. Kent Sopris and Chloe Pierce are vying for the seat in the Democratic primary.
Albany County District Attorney
Defense Attorney Lee Kindlon is challenging incumbent David Soares for the Democratic nomination for Albany County District Attorney. This comes after Soares did not receive the Democratic nomination for reelection. The pair previously faced off in 2012.
Albany County Family Court Judge
Five candidates are running for Albany County Family Court Judge for the Democratic primary: Jaime Czajka, Jillian Faison, Ricja Rice-Ghyll, Jasper Mills III, and Jeffery Jamison. You can vote for up to three candidates.
Albany County Legislator District 5
Only those in Albany County's District 5 will vote between Katie Wood and incumbent Susan Pedo for the Democratic Primary. The district includes Washington Park, Empire State Plaza, Center Square, Hudson/Park, Park South, and a part of the Pine Hills neighborhood in Albany.
Cohoes City Councilmember Ward 6
Those in Cohoes' Ward 6 will vote between Justin Alesio and April Trudeau for the Democratic primary.
Schenectady County Family Court Judge
Four candidates are running for Schenectady County Family Court Judge for the Democratic primary: Samantha Miller-Herrera, Camille Siano Enders, Jill Polk, and Michael Godlewski. You can only vote for one candidate.
Republican Party primaries
Grafton Town Council
Nancy LaRocque and Rebecca Greene are vying for a seat on the Grafton Town Council for the Republican primary.
Greene County Legislator District 3 (Athens)
Incumbent Edward Bloomer is being challenged by James O'Connell in the Republican primary for County Legislator District 3.
Stony Creek Town Councilmember
Three candidates are running for Stony Creek Town Councilmember for the Republican primary: Todd Newton, Sandra Farrell, and Doreen Ryan. You can only vote for one candidate.
Conservative Party primaries
Schenectady County Family Court Judge
Two candidates are running for Schenectady County Family Court Judge for the Conservative primary: Samantha Miller-Herrera and Michael Godlewski. You can only vote for one candidate.
Milton Town Justice
John Cromie and Steven Brown are vying for Milton Town Justice (Saratoga County) for the Conservative primary for a shot in the general election.
Grafton Town Council
Christopher Von Schilgen and Rebecca Greene are vying for a seat on the Grafton Town Council for the Conservative primary.
